MyProtein’s Impact Whey protein contains 80% whey concentrate and is available in bags of 1kg (2.2lbs), 2.5kg and 5kg.
Impact Whey delivers 20g of protein per 25g serving, which is on the slightly lower end of the grams per serving than what I would usually go for, but that’s easily fixed by adding an extra quarter or half scoop and mixing with more liquid. Each serving contains just 1g of carbohydrates for those looking for more control over their carb intake and a stacked combination of amino acids with 2g of Leucine to stimulate protein synthesis and speed up muscle repair. Full breakdown below:
So overall Impact Whey has got all you need to fuel muscle growth and speed up your recovery. So what does it taste like?
My Protein’s impact whey comes in a ridiculous 50+ different flavours and I should point out that I haven’t tried all of these and quite frankly it would probably take me a couple of years to get through a bag of each. The vast range of flavours provide something for everyone’s taste buds, from the more standard protein flavours vanilla, strawberry and Chocolate to the slightly more bizarre Blueberry Cheesecake, Rhubarb & Custard and Cinnamon Danish.
In terms of the taste (I’ve been trying out the vanilla flavour), My Proteins Impact Whey is good, it isn’t as delicious as some of the more premium whey proteins on the market but it is by no means inedible and at this price (more on this later) it is more than satisfactory.
The vanilla protein is also a great complimentary flavour for smoothies, I’ve been mixing it with frozen fruits and oats for a morning kick start and with banana and peanut butter for some post workout recovery.
This is where My Proteins Impact Whey really excels itself, costing just 1.9p (2.6 cents) Per gram of protein.
You will struggle to find a better tasting quality protein such as Impact Whey at a better price anywhere on the market.
