Rich Froning’s Reebok CrossFit Compete 6:14 Shoe Announced

Reebok has announced the launch of a new limited edition crossfit trainer in collaboration with 4 time CrossFit Games champ Rich Froning. The Reebok CrossFit Compete 6:14 takes its name from Rich Fronings ‘Galatians 6:14’ tattoo that runs up the side of his torso.

Apparently the shoe was created by Rich himself with help from Reebok, described as a lightweight shoe made from kevlar, the super strong and durable material used in ballistic vests. The CrossFit trainer has a flexible forefoot and a solid heel making it great for lifting and in Froning’s own words ‘pretty much anything’.

The announcement and release date come at an interesting time, coinciding with the launch of Nike’s recent foray into the CrossFit shoe market with the Nike Metcon 1. Nike’s entrance into the CrossFit market must be a big concern for Reebok who up until now have been pretty much synonymous with the sport.

Can someone please tell me when it was expressed that this shoe would be limited in quantity to 3000? I have been waiting for months and now they are gone everywhere, except for a few ebay people selling them for like $300. I was just looking forward to getting a shoe that looked more durable and really light. Why would they make shoes so sparse that they come a collectable. Isn’t crossfit, and its athlete’s focus about working out and having fun while doing it? This just seems like a marketing scheme and its kind of disappointing. Thanks for reading.

Hey Chris, sorry to hear you didn’t get your hands on a pair. I did see Reebok recently got some more stock in! Unfortunately I think they’re all gone again, but good news that more stock is seeping back in, I’d keep an eye on their Twitter account for updates. Thanks
