Adidas Boston 13 Release Date & Info

Adidas Boston 13 Release Date

The Adidas Adizero Boston series has always stood out for its blend of speed, durability, and comfort. The upcoming Adidas Adizero Boston 13 is no exception, promising to build on its legacy with new features, enhancements, and weight reduction. We look ahead to the release date of the Adidas Boston 13 and what to expect from the latest model in the series.

Adidas Boston 13 Release Date

Although Adidas hasn’t officially confirmed the release date of the Adidas Boston 13, we expect it to hit the shelves in June 2024. The Boston follows a yearly release cycle, and the Boston 12 was released in June 2023, marking one year since the previous model’s release.

You can pre-order your pair of Boston 13s here, or there are some great deals on the latest colorways of the Boston 12.

Adidas Boston 13 Cost

We estimate that the Adidas Boston 13 will cost in the range of $160 to $170. The previous two models launched at $160, so we could see a small price increase in line with recent trends in the running shoe market.

The cost is a mid-high price point for running shoes, but they are competitive for their quality and features in the marathon shoe market.

Updated Design

Upper – The Adidas Adizero Boston 13’s upper will use a lightweight, breathable mesh material that brings a snug, adaptive fit, allowing for plenty of airflow while offering a good balance of comfort and support.

Midsole – Adidas introduced its updated Lighstrike 2.0 foam in the v12; we expect this to continue in the Adidas Boston 13. Lightstrike 2.0 is an updated EVA-based foam that provides a more cushioned ride at a much lighter weight. Is this the softest midsole on the market? No, but it is a remarkable improvement on the older models of the Boston series.

Outsole – One of the most stand-out features of the Adidas Boston 13 is undoubtedly its outsole. With the rubber created by tire manufacturer Continental (yes, you heard me), unsurprisingly, the Boston V13 has one of the hardest-wearing and grippy outsoles on the market. Additionally, we expect Adidas to drop the thickness of the rubber to reduce the weight of an already lightweight racer.

What Are Adidas Boston 13’s Good For

The Adidas Boston 13 is a versatile running shoe. Its balanced design makes it a go-to choice for runners seeking a shoe that can handle speed work, long runs, and everything in between. However, it excels in medium to long runs (half marathons and Marathons) for both training sessions and competitive race days.

Don’t just take our word for it:

Adidas released The Adizero Boston 12 on June 15th, 2023, continuing the series’ yearly release cycle.

Adidas Boston History

The Adidas Boston history dates back to 1981 when the very first Adidas Boston was released as a homage to the Boston Marathon, appearing at the 88th Boston Marathon. It wouldn’t be for another 29 years until The Boston re-emerged with The Adidas Boston 2.

It wasn’t till the Boston 4 that Adidas introduced the Adizero line, which resembles more of the shoe we see today. Over the years, Adidas has consistently enhanced and upgraded the series in order to keep it as one of its flagship marathon runners.

Besides the Boston series, the Adidas Adizero range also contains the Adidas Adizero Adios, which is more of a racing allrounder.

Final Thoughts

The Adidas Boston 13 is shaping up to make a wave in the next generation of marathon trainers and racers. If you are in marathon training and still need to make your mind up, you might want to also take a look at the Nike Alphafly, the Saucony Endorphin Speed and Brooks Ghost for comparisons.
