Speedgoat 6 Cost

The Hoka Speedgoat 6 will retail at $155 (£140), the same price at which they released the current Speedgoat 5. This is a reasonable price for a high-quality trail shoe that offers many features and benefits for runners of all levels.

Design & Performance

Although Hoka hasn’t officially revealed the new Speedgoat 6 designs, early images, our experience with Speedgoats and current industry trends in trail running allow us to confidently speculate about its updated features

The Speedgoat 6 will have a new upper that is more breathable and durable than the previous version. A gusseted tongue and an extended heel tab will make for a snug and comfortable fit. The toe box will feature extra protection to protect your feet from rocks and rough terrain without feeling too bulky.

The midsole and outsole of the Speedgoat 6 will likely remain similar to the Speedgoat 5, which is a good thing since they are already very effective and reliable. The midsole will have a wider platform for more stability and use a lightweight foam that provides a soft and responsive ride. The outsole will have a heel brake for more control on downhill sections and use a Vibram Megagrip with deep lugs and more traction for better grip on wet and slippery surfaces.

The shoe will also be relatively lightweight for a trail shoe and we expect Hoka to launch with a whole new range of color options with some vibrant and eye-catching combinations.

Overall, we expect an updated balance of cushioning, stability, responsiveness, and durability that will make your trail runs more enjoyable and comfortable.

When Did Speedgoat 5 Release?

The previous model of the Speedgoat series, the Speedgoat 5, was released in March 2022, a year earlier than its previous 2-year release cycle.
It had a significant change to the fit of the upper in comparison to the Speedgoat 4, making it more spacious and comfortable. It also had a lighter midsole that was more cushioned than its predecessor and an improved outsole with deeper lugs for better traction
The shoe received positive reviews from many runners and experts for its comfort, grip, durability, and versatility, check out the review in the video below.

Hoka Speedgoat History

The Hoka Speedgoat series was inspired by world record holder Karl Meltzer, known for his endurance and speed on rugged trails. He has won several ultra-marathons, including the Hardrock 100 five times, and set the record for running the Appalachian Trail in 45 days in 2016. Meltzer collaborated with Hoka to create a shoe that could handle any terrain and distance with ease, and the SpeedGoat has been a testament to Hoka’s commitment to trail runners ever since. With each iteration, Hoka has strived for a better balance between comfort, durability, and performance.

The first version of the Speedgoat was released in 2015, and it was one of the first trail shoes to feature Hoka’s signature oversized outsole that had more cushion than other running shoes at the time. The shoe was well-received by trail runners who appreciated its comfort, protection, and stability. The shoe was also lightweight and responsive, making it suitable for fast and agile running.

Besides the Speedgoat series, Hoka One One boasts an impressive lineup of running shoes catering to diverse needs. The Clifton series for road running, the Bondi for maximum cushioning, and the Arahi for long distance.
