CrossFit Open Workout 15.2 Standards and Details

The CrossFit games 2015 Open kicked off last week with Open workout 15.1 and today we moved on to round 2 with the unveiling of Open Workout 15.2.  While Dave Castro really mixed it up for 15.1 with a two part workout starting with a Metcon and finishing with a strength element, 15.2 sees us covering old ground with a repeat of 14.2 from last years Open. The repeat of one of last years open workouts adds an additional layer of strategy with tons of data, results and videos to draw strategy and inspiration from, so get studying. Open Workout 15.2

Every 3 minutes for as long as possible complete:

Every 3 minutes complete a round of the following, until you fail to complete a round within the given 3 minutes

From 0:00-3:00 minutes
Complete 2 rounds of:
10 overhead squats (Men: 95lbs, 43kgs – Women: 65 lbs, 29kg)
10 chest-to-bar pull-ups

From 3:00-6:00 minutes
Complete 2 rounds of:
12 overhead squats (Men: 95lbs, 43kgs – Women: 65 lbs, 29kg)
12 chest-to-bar pull-ups

From 6:00-9:00 minutes
Complete 2 rounds of:
14 overhead squats (Men: 95lbs, 43kgs – Women: 65 lbs, 29kg)
14 chest-to-bar pull-ups

From 9:00-12:00 minutes
Complete 2 rounds of:
16 overhead squats (Men: 95lbs, 43kgs – Women: 65 lbs, 29kg)
16 chest-to-bar pull-ups

Continue the above pattern, adding 2 reps to each movement every 3 minutes until you can no longer complete a full round within the given 3 minutes. Any additional time remaining in each 3 minute segment on completion of the movements should be used as rest until the next 3 minute round begins.

 

Workout 15.2 notes

Every 3 minute round should start with the athlete standing with the barbell on the floor. The score at the end of this workout is total number of reps completed across all movements.

 

Open Workout 15.2 Scaled Division

From 0:00-3:00 minutes
2 rounds of:
6 overhead squats (Men: 65lbs, 29kg – Women: 45 lbs, 20kg)
6 chin-over-bar pull-ups

From 3:00-6:00 minutes
2 rounds of:
8 overhead squats (Men: 65lbs, 29kg – Women: 45 lbs, 20kg)
8 chin-over-bar pull-ups

From 6:00-9:00 minutes
2 rounds of:
10 overhead squats (Men: 65lbs, 29kg – Women: 45 lbs, 20kg)
10 chin-over-bar pull-ups

From 9:00-12:00 minutes
2 rounds of:
12 overhead squats (Men: 65lbs, 29kg – Women: 45 lbs, 20kg)
12 chin-over-bar pull-ups

15.2 Standards

Over Head Squat Standards

At the bottom of the squat the crease of your hip must below the level of the top of your knee. If you wish you may perform a full squat snatch to start the overhead squat but this is not a requirement of the movement.

The barbell should start on the floor and a rack is not permitted. You must achieve full lockout at the top of the overhead squat with arms, knees and hips fully extended with the barbell over the middle of the body

 

Chest To Bar Standards

At the top of the movement your chest must come into contact with the bar below the level of your collarbone.

To complete the chest to bar pull up strict; butterfly or kipping pull-ups are permitted, but arms should be fully extended at the bottom of the movement.

 

Chin Over Bar Pull Ups Standards (Scaled Division)

At the top of the movement your chin must pass over the horizontal line of the bar

To complete the chin over bar bar pull ups strict; butterfly or kipping pull-ups are permitted, but arms should be fully extended at the bottom of the movement.

All times and scores for 15.1 need to be submitted by the following times:
9th March 5pm PST
10th March 1am GMT
10th March 2am CET
